Open Enrollment is Nov. 5 to 16 this year; benefits changes will take effect Jan. 1, 2013

By now, all of Indiana University's full-time academic and staff employees should have received a packet of Open Enrollment materials, providing an annual opportunity to change certain benefit plans for the 2013 calendar year.
The Open Enrollment period this year is Nov. 5 to Nov. 16, with enrollment changes becoming effective Jan. 1, 2013.

During this time, employees can elect to change medical and dental plans; personal accident insurance; tax saver benefit reimbursement accounts (participants must re-enroll each year to participate); tobacco-free premium reduction (affadavit required each year to continue or start to receive the $25 per month, or $50 for both employee and spouse, premium reduction); and health savings account, to which changes can be made throughout the year.
University Human Resource Services is holding interactive webinar sessions for the 2013 Benefit Open Enrollment. These Open Enrollment webinar sessions will focus on:
- Reviewing the benefit opportunities during this Open Enrollment period.
- Describing what’s new for 2013.
- The annual Tobacco-free Affidavit that is required each year to receive a premium reduction.
- Resources that are available to help you.
- A real-time question and answer session following the presentation.
No RSVP is required, and family members are welcome to attend.
